Mr Farrukh Gillani is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in the Scottish Highlands, specialising in knee sports injuries and arthritic knee conditions. His NHS practice is based at Raigmore Hospital and the National Treatment Centre Highland in Inverness.

He graduated in Medicine & Surgery MBBS in 2004 having also completed a BSc degree. Farrukh Gillani completed his Basic Surgical Training in London and completed Membership of The Royal college of Surgeons Edinburgh MRCS in 2010. He did his Specialist Orthopaedic Training in East of England and obtained his Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh FRCS (Tr&Orth) in 2017.

After finishing his Specialist Orthopaedic Training, he did two Fellowships in Merseyside specialising in Knee Surgery and Trauma. The Knee Fellowship in Wirral was focussed on Total Knee Replacement, Partial Knee Replacement, ACL and Meniscus Surgery. The Trauma Fellowship was in a Major Trauma Centre in Liverpool covering all aspects of simple and complex trauma.

Farrukh Gillani’s practice is dedicated to addressing knee problems. He is committed to conducting thorough assessments and investigations for his patients, always prioritising non-surgical methods of treatment whenever possible. However, when surgery becomes necessary, he is proficient in a wide array of procedures. These include Arthroscopic (Keyhole) Surgery, ACL reconstruction, Meniscus/Cartilage Repair, Partial Knee Replacement and Total Knee Replacement.

This focussed approach not only highlights Farrukh Gillani’s dedication to his specialty but also his commitment to providing the highest standard of care for individuals suffering from knee problems.

Farrukh Gillani has also helped to develop Knee Soft Tissue Service in Highland and regularly treats patients requiring ACL Reconstruction, Meniscal (Cartilage) Repair and Knee Arthroscopic (Keyhole) Surgery.

Outside of his professional achievements, Farrukh Gillani enjoys staying active through playing sports, swimming and going to gym. He also loves music and enjoys spending time with his family.
